went t nc's house for squash tdy. and i figure my ball loves ceiling shots. haha. the ball was damn cute too, it had a hole in it so PUCKER UP BABY MWUAHHHH =D

that might be the last time i see youying before she leaves =(

& i finally calculated that i spent a grand total of $141.35 in three days on shopping. congratulate me. RAWR GUILT GUILT GUILT.

speaking of money issues.

who says the church can't be rich?

some people might argue:

1. James 2:5

"Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?"

God is the god of everything, including irony.

2. Matt 6: 19-21, 24

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. ... No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."

3. Matt 19:21

"Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.""

These versus seem to indicate that yeah, apparently the church shouldn't be rich cos if we have anything, we should give it to the poor who need it more than us.

However,

Matt 6:33

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

you will be blessed when you seek God first, and it could be material blessings that you receive!

also in 1 Kings 3, God was pleased that Solomon asked for discernment and not wealth or long life, and he said that,

vs 13: "Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for - both riches and honour - so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings."

consider also the tabernacle. exact details on its design can easily be read up on, and it includes tons of gold, silver and bronze.

so gee, whats wrong with the church being rich? i think it's also a form of honour to God. just like you dress up in your "Sunday best", you also want to church to be dressed up for God.

i guess its all a matter of calling. if God wants you to give up everything to follow Him, then so be it.
