yes im back! after 7 long days of doing cool stuff :D

it turned out a lot better than expected (and a lot better than last year too) with a great watch, great friends, great instructor, great beds, great cutter, great expeditions, great food, great weather, great TAN! everything :D thank God.

highlights of camp! (:

- seeing the boat we got on at punggol jetty turn towards camp 1!
- kimsan watch! grace in the same group again :D
- getting a rope burn from belaying cass, which is currently happily rotting away.
- climbing the indiana and actually crossing the bridge without toppling over and dying!
- feeding the mosquitoes at night despite cass' baygon :(
- my cool dream: i came back to singapore halfway through obs for a "break"
- morning pts!
- morning dips :D
- feeling fitter than i ever felt over the past 3 months.
- trekking with grace, cass, shanti and an. GIRL POWER! we actually had to bash through the forest to find the stuff :/ i thought we would get lost and gideon would have to send a search party for us :P there are actually pretty cool stuff in the forest. like the weird leaf insect that landed on cass' stomach and the huge spider on top of grace's head!
- triyaking!
- me and cass seeing a snake in the water and screaming and running away! it turned out to be a stick -.- fine.
- cass was applying mosquito repellent in the room. a mosquito flew past her. and she sprayed the mosquito repellent at it. now thats what i call weird.
- cutter sailing! VIJAYA!
- me cass and shanti's HUGE bag. i think we were the most well prepared. with powder and lots of wet wipes and even TOILET PAPER. we rock :D
- using gideon's cap!
- being a rebel and not wearing my life jacket, my track pants, and my shoes.
- rowing the oars like a mad fella with cass!
- we were talking about the lady's cool muscle line. and grace went "what line? vein ah?"
- sharing session on wed night, talking about how much we had to improve as a watch (:
- sleeping in the cutter at night!
- waking up at 450am in the morning and hanging my legs over the side of the cutter into the water and admiring the stars and enjoying the fantastic sea breeze! it was the most romantic thing i ever did :D even though i was alone.
- watching jonathan stand in the baby avon for 10 minutes and refusing to pee -.-
- being rocked to sleep like a baby in the cutter! (:
- missing sentry duty with cass. oops.
- morning dip around the cutter!
- swimming directly behind cass when she started peeing -.-
- seeing how our sailing skills improved so much just over a day. our tacks were almost perfect! :D
- the few minutes of storm. we thought we were gonna capsize! it was just so thrilling having the wind blow our ship and us struggling to balance the boat. "let fly!"
- police escort!
- taking charge of the stays and the jib sails (:
- the extremely efficient anchoring on thurs evening at sembawang!
- powder bathing in the tent :D an experience of a lifetime.
- sentry duty with cass and shanti! at 5-6am. we saw the cult activities :/ really quite freaky. i think we heard chickens?
- attempting to row the baby avon with cass back to shore to fetch gideon. we didn't succeed though. coz a HUGE wave came from behind and pushed us ALL THE WAY! we are just too light :( we were screaming coz we thought we were gonna capsize and everyone on shore came running to see if we were okay :P
- screaming at gideon to help balance the boat!
- sailing from sembawang to camp 1 all by ourselves :D
- going all high on friday night with cass and shanti!
- getting "land sick"
- jump on the sandfly!
- getting all high with cass at night :D
- leadership talk! im a wavy line :O
- sharing our love lives :P the scholars are scarily innocent.
- triyaking with cass and mel for 6.5 hours! GIRL POWER! we were the only full girl kayak and they treated me as the guy -.- we were so light that we couldn't even kayak straight? and we got stuck in the mud quite a few times. and we just used our butts to get ourself out of it :P and we chionged all the way back!
- whining at 2pm over missing cindy's wedding :P
- cleaning the kayaks! eugene poured water from his shoes over my head :/
- going to the medical centre multiple times throughout the entire week. oops.
- teasing the very *ahem* gay jonathan. KIDDING!
- jetty jump! walking the plank is scary.
- emoing over having to go home :(
- climbing the funny high element thing with cass! good job yo! :)
- learning to rewear clothes for seven days and attempt to feel clean at the same time.
- getting a TAN! not quite, more like a burn.
- just plain having fun and enjoying myself more than i ever did! :D

jing called me an indian at school today. muahaha. too bad to all you pastey fellas out there. went to buy aloe vera gel with my mum today. this old sales person asked what we wanted to use it for. and this younger one beside her looked at me and immediately said "sunburn" hmm.

and yes, i enjoyed obs! better than great. the sea was the best part of it all. i should go hibernate there, seriously! i miss the sea breeze :( just sitting by the side of the cutter and enjoying the scenery made me smile like a toot to myself. but you know what? i loved it.

it was great just being away from all forms of stress in singapore, enjoying God's creation, and spending some time reflecting on how i've been acting lately, my testimony at all. the stuff we did there taught me a lot of things. a big part of it was how i was reminded that i should stop drawing boundaries and limiting what i think i can do. coz with God's help, really anything's possible, and we shouldn't doubt His power. i hope it won't stop here, there's a lot to work on!
